In the morning of September 8, 2018, Chairman Tan Xuguang made a special trip to the China-Belarus Industrial Park in Minsk to review the Weichai-Maz project. He demanded that the progress of the project should be accelerated to ensure on-time production.
At the site, Tan Xuguang cordially shook hands and greeted all the members of the Maz project and learnt about the progress of the project.
After listening to project reports, Tan Xuguang pointed out that we must operate on time and in high quality, build this factory into a high-quality and digital one, and make it a benchmark of cooperation between Chinese and Belarusan enterprises, a jewel on the “Belt and Road”, and symbols and testimonies of friendship between the two countries.
Weichai-Maz project is a key project of China-Belarus economic and trade cooperation, which has received great attention from the state leaders and has strong support from the Shandong Provincial Government and Provincial Party Committee:
On September 30, 2016, under the witness of President Xi Jinping and Belarusan President Lukashenko, Weichai Power and Industry Ministry of Belarus signed a cooperation memorandum in Beijing. On September 13, 2017, under the witness of Belarusan Premier Kobyakov, and Gong Zheng, Shandong Province Governor and Deputy Secretary of Shandong Provincial Party Committee, Weichai Power signed a cooperation agreement with Maz Group. The joint venture company was formally laid in China-Belarus Industrial Park at the same time. On April 5, 2018, the new factory starts to be constructed and will be put into production in this November.
